what are the differences between a 90' gtu and a 90' gxl. any one have better parts.

 

for the S5 (89-92) the GTU was the "base model" it came with 1pot front calipers, open diff, cloth interrior, and manual doors and windows(it did have a power sunroof and mirrors)
the GXL remained the "luxury" model, with power windows, doors, sunroof, mirrors, cruise control, rear hatch wiper, 4pot brake calipers, auto adjusting suspension, leather interrior, map pockets on the doors, but, alas, an open diff.
i may be mistaken on a few things on the GXL, seeing as i owned an S4, not S5.
i own an 89 GTU, and it has been very good to me. i did, however, upgrade the front brakes, and i am in the process of building my new diff(87 GXL diff) to comp specs.
for the S5, the GTU has a weight advantage...check the faq for the exact numbers.
i may have forgotten something, but thats the gist of it. which one you want is up to your personal needs/wants.
