ON Diff help

Hi all,

I bought a diff years ago and the seller told me it was an LSD and it sat on my shelf for some time. Both axles turned the same way so I didn't think much about it.

Now I'm getting ready to start to get my car working again and am wondering what I have.

It has a metal tag on the filler plug that is worn so much it's blank and the housing has MO55 3 stamped on it.

I'm just hoping I didn't pay for a welded diff.

Is there an easy way to check without tearing it apart?

Google isn't helping much.

Thanks,

Mike

If it has a tag on the filler plug it's an LSD...

if would imagine it's probably an S4 if both spin the same way when you turn one (due to the preload on the clutches)

Thanks for the info...

I'm just surprised I couldn't find anything from the stamp on it.
