MA Dies when hot

Died today after leisurely driving for about 20 minutes.

After it died, would crank but wouldn't start. Temp gauge read around 184'ish when it died.
Let it cool for several minutes(~176 degs), tried to start it and it ran for about a minute, then died.
Then let it sit for about 35 minutes, (~160 degs), and it started and ran for the 10 mins it took to get it back home.

88 TII with a Haltech Elite.
Brand new engine (less than 20 miles on it). 2nd time driven, but prob first time driven during the hot part of the day. - I'm thinking it's temp related.

Any ideas as to why it shuts off?

I had a bad CAS that would do that. Figured it out by spraying it with electrical cleaner. It cooled it off and the car fired right back up again.

Don't get me started on CAS issues.

Long story short after a used and my 2nd new(rebuilt) CAS and entirely redoing the CAS wirinng, I'm showing 0 home or trigger errors.

So, my CAS is good.

I have no idea how to diagnose this.

Does haltech have a safety where it cuts off at temp? Check that maybe it is set way to low?

I had the stock ECU at the time and the only thing that tipped me off was that I had the test LED wired up and it flashed the crank signal error when cranking over trying to start it.

Y, there's a safety cut off for coolant temp, but it's et way above what the coolant temp was.

Faulty coil? Check if any of your ignition coils get very hot after the engine dies
