Did not pass emmisions.

AGAIN.

Im running 2 bottle of iso heat to a 1/4 tank.
Air Pump re routed to the cat directly.
Variable resistor turned lean as it will go without dying.
87 octane
drove very carefully to the test station.

However when I got back my ghetto rigged hose has obviously poped off. Duct tape dint work well....

I bought 2 ft of 3/4 hose and clamped it on tight.
My readings were 5.54 out of 2.0 allowed on HC. Only thing I failed.
Im going to add another bottle of ISO heat to this tank of gas and try again.

You guys think ill pass??

How'd you not pass? Is ur cat dead? Heh.. I passed with airpump straight up to a bonez high flow cat and a tiny bit of leaning on my S-AFC (nothing major). No alcohol, my variable resistor broke so I didn't fool with that at all either.

Im pretty sure the first attempt at bypassing it directly to the cat failed horribly........

Meaning I was just running ISO heat.

Mabey this time it will work?? The cat has 226k on it and was the end point of my exhaust for some time .

Just throw a new cat at it and hook up the pipe to the cat better.
Reminds me of when I took my 7 to DEQ, failed about like you did, but a little worse, only to find out that all the cats had been gutted by the previous owner.

hurm. Got a good recommendation for a cat?

The previous owner would have had NO idea how to do that, im thinking age is the cause.

you need port air, hooking it to the cat might not be good enough, port air is!

i think he's talking about what the ACV does, air control valve, where it supplies the cat with air when the air-pump doesnt.

yes, from idle to 2500-3000 rpm the air pump air is delivered into the exhaust ports, after 3000rpm its dumped into the atmosphere.

port air works the best to clean the car up.

i just went thru this, and the car went from failing miserably to passing by holding port air for the whole test.

So you think running the air pump DIRECTLY into the car wont work?

The port air solenoid flow hole is smaller than the switching solenoid hole in the ACV (which provides the source for the split-air pipe). The port air system is only active until the 20,000 mile switch disables the system. That being said, either port activation (or rigging to activate) will add fresh air to the exhaust gases, but IMO rigging the switching solenoid open will provide more air (O2) where it is needed, at the cat.
You probably can't go wrong either way...

It WILL help. Running the air pump straight to the cat (via the split air solenoid pipe or whatever you use to have it hooked into the cat) will supply air all the time rather than just at cruise conditions like the ACV does. Not only that, but its supply more of an air flow than the ACV would. I hooked my air pump straight to the cat and thats WHY I passed emissions, I wasn't able to otherwise.

ISO heat is isopraphic alcohol.
Basicly it drys up water, and causes your car to burn hot.
Kinda hids HC .
