did my engine blow?
Okay while driving today, I hear a loud pop and the rpms wouldn't go past 3000 and i had lost a lot of power. I started to slow down and I shifted into first gear, there was still no power and my car started to shake more. I can start the car but the idle stays at 500 rpm and shakes the car vigorously then stalls like 10 seconds later no matter how much gas I put.
What could be my problem guys?
thanks for the help..

compression test if you can.... do the cheap one... pull a plug from each rotor, and pull the efi fuse and crank it... with your fingers on the plug holes look for 6 strong pulses, alternating between the front and the back
if you dont get this.. a real compression test is in order

do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? if so, does the needle flicker when your idling? it shouldnt!
pull ur efi(i think thats it), or pull a plug from each rotor one at a time and listen for the "wushes", you prob blew a seal. should sound consistant. but i just scrolled up and read what vectorminds wrote and i wrote the same exact thing..lol yeah give that a try.
i blew a seal in the rear rotor and then drove it for 2 months. needless to say i couldnt use the housings for the rebuild =P
good luck

You blew an apex seal or 3. That story is exactly the same as mine when mine blew.... I was driving along at like 40mph, then all of a sudden I loose all power, it sounds like a lawn mower, stalls and studders, and wont rev past like 4 without sounding like its going to kill you. Rebuild time

is there a way where i can get to drive it? cuz man its like 6 miles away from my house and i dont want to pay for towing. We were gonna try to pull it with my explorer but there is a big dip going to my house and the car got power brakes so donnt know how we gonna brake while going down hill. Not unless you guys got any other suggestions on how to tow it yourself with towing rope?

You can still use your power brakes when the vacuum isn't present. You just have to push really friggin hard.
Just go REALLY slow and tell your buddy towning you to not stop adrubtly so you have time to react and brake.
I towed my RX-7 from down the street into my steep *** driveway with only a chain and my dads Nissan truck.

Difficulty -- very simple. On a turbo theres a bit more stuff, but na is about a one day job. Me and another guy on this board "guitarman68" did it in his garage with a 12 peice socket set. (well actually i had to go buy a 14mm socket and a propane torch to get one of the bolts out, but for the sake of argument, 12 peice socket set )
The hardest part is wiggling the tranny away from the motor. That thing is in there TIGHT.
Oh and the flywheel nut? HA! good fackin luck. You need an air compressor and an impact hammer.
Oh and the motor mounts are big peices of **** too
