Oy.. I took my air pump off... and everything else.. Just running the alternator belt. One.

So i'm driving around, and the belt breaks... I notice that all the idiot lights are on, and my temp guage is slowly rising.. It prolly ran for about one minute w/out any belts at all... At the end, the temp guage was 3/4 up.

How screwed am I?

if it was 3/4ths of the way up, that's pretty damn hot, but you should be fine. Is there any smoke coming out of the tailpipe now when you start it? that way you will know if you desentigrated any of your seals...if there is, then you get to rebuild your engine, what an oppurtunity

I didn't notice any smoke..i'll check again when i start it tommorow.. I put a new belt on, and it still runs like a champ.. That airpump is going back on until I get a dual belt alternator pulley!
