did I need to change these in my TII swap?

N/A coils to TII coils?

pass side wiring harness?

any other things neccesary to swap that may affect spark?

I'm not getting any spark, and I 'm just trying to get any possibilities before I go all the way out to where my car is to work on it. I 'd like to only have to go out there once more.

coils are the same no matter if they are NA or not.

what year(s) are you working with?

whats the front harness? is that the one that goes through the firewall on the drivers side?
(thats what I meant in my first post, not pass side)
I did not swap the drivers side one(front harness?). thats what I meant to ask if it needed changing.

I did swap the engine harness - thats the one thats connected to the engine I assume, that goes to the injectors and all that stuff, right? I didn't even disconnect it from the engine, just pulled it from the car with the engine, so its not likely something on that got disconnected from the engine(if that would matter for spark)

come to think of it, there were two black plugs near the ECU that didn't seem to go to anything, and didn't go together. I just assumed they were for something my car didn't have. could those do anything?

also, there was a plug which had a rubber incasing which was near the pass side strut tower. I remember this being plugged in when I had my N/A engine in, but couldn't find anything for it to plug into with the turbo engine in.

also, my water temp gauge(stock) went all the way to "H" with the key just in the "on" position. that wouldn't be in anyway related, would it?

yep, the S4 NA and T2 front harnesses (the drivers side) are different. You'll need to either swap the front harnesses or move pins.

The only plug I can think of near the pass shock tower would be the fuel pump plug. 2 pin plug right?

The black plugs on the pass side near the ECU is probably for the knock box and the ATP. The knock box has a 7 pin plug with 4 wires in it, while the ATP (atmosphere pressure sensor) has a 4 pin with 4 wires.

do you mean like swaping where the wires go into the plug??????????????????? that sounds like a major pain in the ***. how hard is it to get that wiring harness out from under the dash? and are there any more plugs for it under there besides the one that goes to the ECU?

it sounds like this could definetly be my problem.

yeah, 2 pins, but my fuel pump is working great. I forgot to connect the fuel lines to it after I swapped it, and fuel went everywhere anything else it could be?

I plugged in the knock box (little white plug) and I didn't think I had to change the ATP from the N/A one. besides, these plugs are bigger than 7 and 4. they seem to be a lot longer- no way one of them would plug into the ATP or the knock box.

thanks for the help so far.

The easiest way to swap front harnesses is to pull off the dash panel. Its pretty easy to get too then.

See in the passengers kick panel the harnesses although they plug together, don't match layout between a T2 and a NA. They are close, but not all the same wires are there (for example there is no wire for the green from the knock box to hook up to between the FEM2 harnesses, because the NA doesn't have the knock box).

So yeah, you can rip apart the plugs re-pin as needed and add wires as needed and run them (that's what I did, and yes someday I will do a write up when I get the time) or you can just swap the front harness as well, and be done with it.

okay sweet. I think I'll just swap the harness. I don't really enjoy electronics too much but you don't mean completely remove the dash, right? whats the "dash panel"?

thanks

yeah the whole dash... its pretty simple, just remove all the trim and dash electronics, then unbolt the dash and lift it out. Real easy to get to the harness then (and a good chance to replace your carpet if the carpet sucks too).
