Just because they can work on a rotary doesn't mean they are honest and trustworthy.

s4's are a 1/4 way.... s5's are 1/2 way...

 

Normal for s4 can be between 1/4 and 1/2, however more people report 1/4 as being their "normal." Also depends on the gauge and how it is callibrated, or rather de-callibrated (word?) due to age.

S5 is definitely 1/2 as normal since it's a POS dummy gauge.

I was verifying temps at the block versus my stock gauge and 1/4 was ~180º on the aftermarket gauge. At the 1/2 point it was just past 200º, which is still fine.

 

WEll.. Im sure if you take a poll of the s4's most will report 1/4... IT IS NOT A LAW THOUGH... So if your needle sees 1/2 and your temps are below 200 then I guess thats normal for you.. out of the 4 s4's I've had 1/4 is around 185 with 190 being a lil over the 1/4 mark....

 

I was just trying to make the point that movement between 1/4 and 1/2 is perfectly fine and normal, even extended use at 1/2 should be fine, but the cooling system should be looked at if it can never fall below (after warming up).

This being for s4 of course.

well idk then cause like when i start of course its on c and it takes a while to warm it up then once i go i went to taco bell and back...and no way home it had already gotten to atleast 60% was for sure about 1/2....i just put more coolant **** in it 50/50 premixed stuff but ya idk gonna put in shop soon i still love to drive it already i mean just going from a nova to a rx7 is a big change but turbo makes it <3 every time i hear the bov im like wow i love this **** but ya i mean i dont wanna blow the engine or have anything bad happen since i did just spend 3500 on this car......rx7 is what i wanted and thats what i got now i just gotta deal with the problems >< but ya any opinions r cool to hear so lmk wut up. and the guy did give me 4 diff rx7 books that r quite old looking and r very detailed but im to lazy to read them. and i gotta go pick up a fd pump he said i can have if i wanna come get. but ya im scared to have it over heat so once it goes over 1/2 i usually shift lower and just try and bring it home till cools down again.....

 

i'll get it running good again and it won't cost any arms or legs.

just take it easy on the car until wednesday.
