did engine swap and now think its locked up please help!!!!!!

i have an 86 rx7 and i did an engine swap from a wrecked 88 turbo 2. well now i got it in and i havent got a starter yet and we tried to pull start it. well i let out on the clutch the tires were just locked up and i tried it again and it did the same thing. so i parked it and took out the spark plugs and tried to turn it over by hand. it moved about 2 or 3 inches and wouldnt move anymore. can anyone please help me??????????????? i spent $725 for the wrecked turbo 2. the interior is perfect too so thats another reason why i bought it. i need any help. please please. thanks

put a 19mm on a socket

you should be able to turn it over with that.

make sure it's out of gear too

Did you try and turn the motor over on the TII before you swapped it??????? Looking for other reasons that the motor isn't turning over here.....

You *did* check to see that the engine from the t2 ran before swapping it, right?

Had the t2 sat for a while prior to you swapping it? Engines that sit for a while are more likely to lock up.

First - Is the tranny maybe stuck in gear (even with the shift in neutral)?
Or - Will the car roll with the tranny in neutral & the clutch engaged?

Desperation measures:
Pull the intake & exhaust manifolds.
Squirt in some ATF or Marvel Mystery Oil.
In 4th gear push it slowly backwards & look into the ports for any sign of trouble.

Try turning the shaft again the next day.

the car had been sitting for about 2 years maybe. the guy said it ran when it wrecked. i couldnt start it because the starter was bad and like the left side of the engine bay was totaled. today i put some ATF in the spark plug holes to see if that helps. some people told me to use diesle fuel to put in the spark plug holes. i dunno. tell me what u think

yeah can use oil or atf in the spark plug holes. You have to work it back and forth easily so you won't break anything. If the car sat for 2 years its most likely carbon lock.

IN my honest opinion, that engine won't be any good. It probably won't unlock, but in the rare event that it does, it'll probably be so sticky inside that it won't make good enough compression to run well. Besides, engines that sit a while and have sticky seals don't last long before one of those sticky seals binds and breaks.
