The only year the GTU was available in a S4 was an 88, and yes all 88 GTU models sold in the USA had a LSD

I would like to add that just because a car had a certain item when new, it does not necessarily mean that the item was not changed by one of the owners in the 20 or so years since then. Unless you are the original owner of the car, there is no telling what options or replacement parts it has unless you check for yourself.
