i saw on a forum that all TII's of any year came with power steering. when i checked my rack while pulling out my motor the rack had no power steering holes (where the fluid runs too). could it be that the owner before me swapped the rack? or did my car just not come with it?

 

My 87 TII didnt come with it when I bought it and im pretty sure it came that way from the factory cause there is no power steering controlle unit for the harness to plug into, I just changed out my harness and I couldnt figure out what that plug was for, turns out it was the power steering plug.

The 2 87 t2's ive owned didn't come with power steering.

 

Not all TII's in '87 had PS from factory. My old '87 TII had a manual rack.

 

All FC's have rack and pinion steering, but that wasn't the question. He asked about power steering.

I have seen many TIIs with PS from the factory and without.

 

All Kouki 1989 - 1991 Turbo II's came with power steering as standard.
I believe all 1988's came with power steering standard too?

In 1987, it was optional.
Mine does not have power steering either.
I prefer it that way.

i know of the 87's is it optional like said before.

I don't have it in my 87 TII and am glad.

 

My 87 came with a manual rack and a steel TII hood.....

 

are there any T2's with steel hoods that are 88 + models? All the 88's i've seen had P/S and aluminum hoods

My 87 t2 has manual steering and aluminum hood. My 88 has power steering and aluminum hood and ABS. Both models have a claimed weight of 2850 lbs but the 87 must be lighter because of the lack of power steering {30lbs ?} and the lack of ABS {20 lbs?} and the lack of spoiler {10 Lbs ?} Any thoughts ?
