Red face Diagram For Cable Routing On Power Windows-90 Vert

I have found several write ups on power window motors and rebuilds, but does anyone have a diagram of how the cable is suppose to go around rollers? Don't want to pull off passenger side door panel if possible.

Thanks again in advance.

Thanks much, about 1000 times better off than I was earlier. Really appreciate the help. I have added a positive check mark toward your sainthood.

I rebuilt my passenger door window regulator using one of the writeups, I think from the 'other' rx7 site. Don't have a link, you will have to search. If you search and cannot find it, pm me and I will send you a pdf copy made from my hard copy.

The cable goes around a couple of nylon guides at the top of the regulator. Mine had worn the upper guide completely away, then the loose cable had frayed until it failed.

I replaced the upper guide with a *pully* from a manual rx7 regulator. I restrung it with teflon coated cables purchased from a local bike shop using that tutoral as a basic guide.

It now works very smooth and I should never have to get inside that door again. At least for the window regulator.

Thanks jackhild59, I can use all the info I can. I print and save everything I've done to car, from tps to thermowax. I'll pm you and send it along. Great news. Another saint in the running. And FYI, cable didn't break, came off of guides, how? Anyhow, message coming, and more info appreciated.

Here is a picture of the manual window regulator. It is set up very similar to the convertible regulator. The convertible regulator is about 2 inches wider and has an extra roller. The convertible also has an additional track along side the cable track that keeps the rear of the window stable. This extra track is necessary because the vert does not have the window frame as the coupes do.

There is a very good expanded view of the vert door on the FSM, page S-45.

I used the pulley from the manual rig to replace the upper cable guide on the vert power regulator. I drilled out the shaft and bolted it onto the vert regulator with a small bolt. I restrung the regulator as described here:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ndow+regulator

One correction in the above proceedure is the socked size. He mentions a 3/8 socket, but that must have been the drive size. I believe the actual size is an M14, but it has been a couple of months since I did it. It could turn out to be an M13.

The window now goes up and down like a charm. By the way, the length on the manual cables is not correct for restringing the vert regulator. I used cables purchased from a bike shop.

Good luck
