Question Please Help!

i just finished putting my FC together. it's a 87 turbo II bone stock. but now it starts up fine and idles for a little bit and shuts off after about 5 seconds. no hesitation starting up or when it shuts off. i checked the air flow meter, the intake, the TID, the intercooler, all the vacuums and doesnt seem like any of those were the problem. am i missing something? or what should i do? i dont think it could be the fuel since it starts up each time perfectly. only thing is, it cant maintain it. please help!

Get the factory service manual and systematically go through the troubleshooting routine. Sounds like an air leak or vacuum leak so double check for that. Maybe you fogot to hook up a hose somewhere?

Pull the check codes. That should get you pointed in the right direction.

what do you mean by the check codes?

and Go48, i thought it was an air leak too but i'll double check it and the hoses again.

i did a complete swap from my old T2 to a new sport shell. i swapped the whole rear end, motor, tranny, both engine and dash harness. i didnt mess with the engine much besides just dropping it in the new shell. it was running perfectly before
