depowering rack question..

already cut off the main seal, now what about this sliding seal? leave it or remove it as well? I didnt see the archived write up mention it .

I just did this today. in the cold *** weather. outside. ****. and also i did'nt take the other ones off cuz it didnt say so in the flyin miata instructions. hope i did it right... i guess i will find out first thing tomorrow.

now that i look at the instructions i think i did it wrong....that was a pain in the *** to do too. Im actually not sure if youre supposed to but it says seals in the flyin miata instructions and i think that means the other seal that is loose on the shaft as well. let me know what you did and how the steering feels.
