Bonez Race Pipe installed - Review inside

Yesterday I installed the Bonez Race Pipe and it was a fairly easy install. Just had to unbolt the cats, and then drop them down. Just don't let your guard down or else you could get hurt when they fall down. They are pretty heavy ( considering I had 170,000 miles of build up in them ) and I smashed my hand.

After the cats were dropped I moved up into the engine bay and disconnected my split air hose, and then popped the vac line off the split air hose. Then I went back under the car and installed the race pipe. Not too hard doing this either. The only thing you need to do is go down to a hardware store and pick up 2 bolts, and 2 nuts so that you can bolt the pipe into the catback. Like $2.00 for the bolts and nuts. I think it's a deal because you save $18.00 because you don't need the bolt / gasket kit. Also some silicon sealent would be good for the install too..

Started the car up after the install was done, and the sound difference was just incredible. People were questionable if the sound would be loud on the stock catback or not, well on my car it's fairly loud and has some rumble too it. Revving it in the driveway a few times to get the car warmed up then I took it out for a little trip down my road.

Once I got onto the road I floored it and I took off like a bat out of hell. Now this wasn't my intentional plan keep in mind. Normally when I would floor my car it would just gradually accelerate. I guess with the clogged cats, and the 6 ports wired open the car has a better responce. The revs were so much faster, and so much smoother that I was just in awe at the results of the race pipe. I actually burned the clutch up shifting into 2nd because it's pretty old also and not used to being driven like it was yesterday..

So the way to describe the car now? Night and day. Going from a dead slow car, to a pretty quick car was definatly worth the price of the race pipe. I recommend that anyone who doesn't have a race pipe in yet, to get one. You'll be very happy with the results.

heh, glad you liked it. Thats what I used to run. noticed the same improvment. but... going from stock manifold/Bonez race pipe to header was a MUCH better improvment. you should try that next.

I was thinking about getting a header, but I wasn't sure if the RB header would bolt up to the Bonez Race pipe or not. I mean if it would bolt up there would be no problems getting one. Just haven't really looked into that aspect of it yet. Plus I'm going to wait for my catback to arrive before the header.

Yes, that will be definatly cool. I need to get an intake kit sometime, because the stock air filter sucks in the car, but right now money is going into the car faster than I make it hahah... Imagine that

pick up an adapter from ebay for 5 bucks, and buy a filter like the RU 2820 from KN and there you go. you won't need the little breather filter now for the air pump since you no longer have cats
