delrim and other suspension bushings questions. (I searched)

Hi everyone, first i would like to say that i did a search and could not find the information im looking for.
i recently purchased an 87 rx7. while driving it home from the previous owners house, i felt the back end moving back and forth while going over bumps. (at speeds between 50 and 60 mph). it was a very noticeable movement, and frankly, it scared the crap out of me. it felt like i was completely out of control of the car. granted, it was a rainy night, bordering on icy. however, i don't think i broke traction much.
the next day, i jacked up the back of the car, and took off the wheels to take a look at this dtss system i have been hearing about. almost all the busings and rubber parts in the rear end look like crap.
so my question is, what should i replace them with for everyday driving / maybe a little bit of autocross? should i keep the dtss system, or disable it?
ive seen the energy suspension hyper flex kit, but im not sure if that would contain all the parts i need. does that kit even have the dtss bushings?
what do you guys recommend?

You can't really replace the DTSS (I know guys but give me a break!) unless you get rid of it completely. And like a Mod on here likes to say most people will never drive the car hard enuff to feel it work (ditto) so... you'll get people saying they love it, hate it, replaced it... forgot about it. Anyway, check you tires for tread depth, shocks and then worry about replacing the standard bushings that come in the kit. Replacing the bushigs is a good idea just not top on my list if the other two haven't been adressed. My T2 has been real squirrely before on wet pavement because the rear tires didn't have near enough tread or as much as I thought I had.

If you care about Autocrossing in a particular class, eliminating the DTSS will bump you out of stock or STS2 classes.

well, i have never done autocross before, and dont know much about it. so im not sure if it matters to me which class i am in. i guess i will look into replacing the shocks, as they are 173,000 miles old. what would be the cheapest option? (without ending up with worse performance than stock). i assume that oem shocks would be expensive.

Tokico Blues are stockish (or better) and not expensive. Check eBay and... anywhere hah!

The best bang for the buck dollar wise as far as suspension tuning goes will be replacing the bushings. Think about the loads that are encountered when cornering a 2600lb car. Think about the flex that is inherient (sp). I would swap the shocks if the need it, probably do, but I would definately change the bushings. It makes for a much more consistent car.

After MKT, but they are only made for the larger TII style swaybars, so unless you have a TII, you would need to source the sways.

By eliminating the slop & flex and compression and stretch that the rubber introduces, you allow the suspension to function as it is supposed to

ok, so i guess this brings my back to the other part of my question. do you know if the energy kit includes the toe eliminators?

Energy Suspension does not include the DTSS eliminators.
