hey guys
im somewhat well knowledged about most aspects of a car but one aspect that I'm a little shady with is the brakes. I understand how brakes (howitworks.com :P) but my problem is more related to which components to buy. I dont even know how to word this properly. I just went from the stock rims to 18" rims and would like to upgrade the brake system to compensate for this. How about I start with, which parts of the brake system should be upgraded and some good places to purchase products?
I got lots of questions about brakes, I have been doing some reading but I prefer things to be explained to me by people who are knowledgeable.

personally i think the brakes on these cars are preety good. I would start off with getting steel braided line and a good high temp brake fluid. This will inprove the feel of the pedal when its applied. next i would get a good set of pads, i like the hawk hp+. good strong bit helps braking alot. Some people say to get cross drilled and slotted rotors, some say its pointless, but its up to you.

i recently did my brakes and went with cross drilled/slotted rotors in the fronts, OEM rears, and ceramic pads all around and the stopping is just great...
i had someone brake check me at around 90 mph and they brought me down to sixty faster than i thought they would
this is still with the single piston calipers...
if you go five lug and get the four piston calipers with a similar setup, i'm sure the results will be even better
that's if you don't already have that...

i don't think you NEED to get bigger brakes. bigger rims won't make you go faster (or at least i doubt they'll make you go that much faster to the point where your current brakes aren't effective).
anyways, if i were to upgrade the brakes, i'd upgrade the pads and the fluid. if you're going to do the work yourself, throw some speedbleeders (www.speedbleeders.com) on too to make bleeding them a lot easier.
