Check your spark plugs. If you flood car and keep cranking it over or pulling around, it will KILL your spark plugs. They might be new, look like new, but they will not spark at all, or very poorly.

Its not that hard to check how is the spark on them (pull it, crank over with the plug in the spark plug wire and hold it against ground - nice spark OK, bad spark inside of plug or no spark at all NOT OK). You do that with all four of them to make sure all plugs and all coils are in shape and you are getting proper spark.

Pulling CAS and making sure timing is right at spot would not be bad idea either.

If you have compression and car is flooding, you are lacking fire, or wiring at wrong time.
Double check for injector crossed wires and spark plug cables....

If everything is right, it will start up. If it starts and then dies, there are other symptoms mentioned above (AFM, FPR, vacuum leak etc..)

friend of mine happened to have leak on connecting fuel pump in the tank - pump was running, he was able to start car, but it died right after start.....tricky one, but we found it

FC's are stupidly simple for finding problems, once you understand how it works.....

Ok first off I will address the post count post.. I have owned 18 rx-7's now I am 26 years old and have been buying them since I was 15. After 11 years and 18 cars of headaches you can get to the point as to where you feel like giving up on certain projects.

As far as this car goes... I just realized that in my haste I had a primary injector clip plugged into a secondary injector, and one of the primaries was the wrond impeedance. (i pulled off the UIM looking for a leak. SO!! I am going to slap it all back together and cross my fingers.

Well problem solved. It was user error. I put the car back together wrong. Car runs and drives very well now. Fired up on the first try and isn't flooding anymore. Idle is steady at 900rpm and there are no leaks anywhere (vacuum or fuel) All I need to do now is address the cosmetics and what not. I drove it around the block a few times and was a little dissapointed in the performance, but I then was reminded that my daily driver is a 300hp Mustang GT so.... Even though this car is short on torque (no 6 port sleeves) it appears to be in tip top running condition with fully cleaned injectors with new rings and a fresh fuel pump and strainer... Thanks for the help. But I am still willing to burn it if 900 people send $2 to my paypal..

YAY, isn't it funny how one mistake makes you want to kill the car? I had that problem doing the megasquirt.

dont give up on it. the worst thing thing you can do is put your heart and soul into something and then ruin it your self. trust me ive done it.
swap out the afm then check for vaccume leaks. are you sure you didnt accidentally swap the feed and return fuel lines too? thatd do it.

in the event you do bitch out and burn/part it out. i want your springs, and possibly your shock if theyre worth a damn.

I'm glad you got it working, and that you didn't burn the car! It's too nice !

I had some problems with my AFM and TPS all at the same time. It was so frustrating, I wanted to drive the damn thing off a cliff. but It feels so good when things start working like they should :-)
