deal with the smell or pay?
i have a gutted main cat on my car
the good thing is that i like the sound and the increased power
the bad thing is that people(chicks) who ride in my car say it always smells like gasoline
if i get a high flow will it still give me the same amt of power as a gutted one? do you think its worth it for nearly $300?

I've run my car with stock cats, a CorkSport midpipe, and a Bonez race pipe... none of them smelled like gas. Maybe you should check your taillight gaskets or something.
The trick is, to make the chicks feel like it's an honor to ride in a wankel powered car.

Get used to the stink... It's a rotary. Usually I've found if she's being slammed back into her seat with boost, they don't have much time to think about how much it smells.
On a helpful note, i've got a bonez highflow cat i could sell ya. Goes from the exhaust manifold back to the Y pipe.

And if you're smelling gas, it might be best to make sure you're not leaking fuel anywhere. Chicks don't like being set on fire. I have no cats, and I only smell my exhaust (when in the car) if the wind is blowing from behind me when the car isn't moving.

I presume you're smelling exhaust gas, not raw fuel.
Like "Kai" said check your taillight & hatch seals.
Closing or fully opening the sunroof reduces negative pressure in the cabin.
Also you can turn up the fan speed.

You might also want to check all the gaskets for the exhaust system. If there is a small leak up front, the exhause smell is WAY greater than normal.
I think that the first thing you should spend money on is a full tune up. The exhaust shouldn't smell like gas. Replace the plugs, plug leads, fuel filter, do the timing, all those things and don't forget to check for fuel leaks.

you know, i think its just that the exhaust smells. some people have said gasoline, some people say it just smells bad or "fume-ish". i dont have a sense of smell so i can't tell. since the main cat takes a lot of crap out of the exhaust i'm sure its just that. i've checked it out before and i'm not running rich or leaking or whatever.
and besides it all started once i gutted the main cat.
yeah if i get a hi flo i was gonna get the bonez race pipe...how much f1bluerx7?

I'd guess that you need to replace gaskets in the exhaust section that you removed. The normally leak after you open it up if you don't replace the gaskets.

I might have one or two of them, I'll include them in the sale if I can find them. I think they are 10 bucks a peice from racing beat.
