Dead engine?
I posted this in the General Rotary Tech section. Seems like no1 goes in there. Here it goes..
I got my hands on an 86 GXL (Im going to swap the engine from my other fc into it). The engine didnt have oil in it (since it came from a junkyard). Dont know if the lack of oil caused something to dry up. Today I tried starting the engine in the GXL to see if it works. It just cranked over pretty fast. I squirted some ATF into the BIG vacuum hose on the dynamic chamber and its sitting right now. I dont have a compression tester so I cant test it. How can I tell if its low on compression? How can I try to get it running? Sorry for the long post.

Verify its getting fuel, air and spark. Check the guage for fuel quantity, verify no rats nest in intake. Put some fresh plugs in it. Even if ifs low compression it may still start but won't have any power. There are numerous things that can keep it from running and these are just the very basics.
Good Luck.

how do I check for fuel? I emptied the gas tank and put some fresh fuel in it. I checked for spark and its good on both coils. I tried turning it over again and it sounded a little bit better with the atf in it but still nothing. So I just left it alone :p
