Deactivating Antenna

I want to disable my rear antenna on my 87 base, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I may want to re-enable the antenna in the future, so is there a wire I could cut and cap for now that would keep the antenna from rising? Thanks

LOL, unplug the antenna in the rear hatch area. You're done.

remove the whole motor and put a quarter with glue in the hole. What's the point of only letting the antenna come up SOMETIMES? either leave it alone or remove. Don't be a Flip-flopper.
