Dayumn What A Deal

so i find this red GTU on Mautofied.com

swell i call the guy up

go up there today, drive home a 1990 GTU with 59k miles on it, racing beat header, nice custom exhaust, and RE intake filter for 400 bucks + a guitar that i had lying around

needless the say the car runs like a BAT OUT OF HELL, aside for the fact that it runs super rich, needs some tires, and a new battery

I'll slap up some pics tomorrow before i head to work in the morning

sweet, hope you did a compression check, a coolant seal check and all those things to make sure the car runs tomorrow.

haha the car runs and drives good, drove it all the way home from where i got it

about a 60 or 70 miles trip

it had some issues with idling at first, but that cleared up after it had been driven a bit

it idles and runs fine now, but a new battery would be nice because having to jump it off every time its shut off isn't fun haha

that is a damn good deal. I just sold my 90 gtu for $3K and it has 129K on it.

today was a great day for me as well. my buddy spotted a S5 T2 at pick'n'pull. complete with jspec & lots of nice aftermarket stuff. 3 hours later all that's left was busted interior.

I wish i coulda got that kinda deal. Hearing **** like that, and $500 TII stories honestly ******* pisses me off, why couldn't i get that lucky, i looked for a TII for a good 2 months, and after being ripped off twice, i finally got ahold of one, i paid 1200 for the car, Then tried to drive it home from Boston made it about 20 miles and it died, then paid 600 bux to get it shipped to AR, and i've spent another 100 bux tryin to fix it, its still not running WTF

Not to mention the damn shipping company ripped off the exhaust fron the y pipe back, while pulling it off the truck

Yeah, sorry to hear you got bent over...

It helps to be close to an area where there's emission testing.
We used to come across a lot of FC's (actually almost any rotary) in Cali.
Due to the strict emissions testing, owners don't like to worry about smogging the cars, since they are a pain to get them to pass (for the average joe).
So, they end up dumping these things for a song...

You just gotta be there at the right time.

God damn indeed! GJ. In finland you would'nt have even got the wheels out of the car with 400 bucks.

Amen.

I acually hadn't planned on gettin a 7 anytime soon, then i came across an unbeatable deal, test drove it, fell in love again, and i just had to get back to the rotary. So i sold my soul (among other things) in order to get it, then the guy backed out, and i just couldn't wait. I had to have a TII ASAFP, which is why i am where i'm at now.......ahhh the lessons learned in life......patience

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
4-600 around here is the norm for an NA, but as soon as you slap the word turdbo on something they jump up to like 3-4k which i wont pay for a stock one, especially one from WV.

Well done! Take good care of her regardless of model/trim level. I got my first FC for free and second for $500.
