the day i bought my car
wanna hear a story, i bet you do! i went to go pick my "new" car a 87TII the guy didnt let me drive it before we bought it b/c i had no plates, the onlything i wanted was a 2nd gen turbo...and it stred right up every time we went, he took the battery out of his car to start it for me so i know he didnt have to do anything special to start it.My dad drove it home b/c the last think i need is another ticked. On the way home (wich is about 3 miles) i notices that a few sparks came from the bottom of the car, i honked at him to stop to keep from whatever was sparking hitting the ground ect.. he didnt see me and he staled it at the next stop light, it was smoking and i was gettin HOT, i just payed 1500 for a dented up sparking stallin rx. we pushed it into a parking lot and went home, the guy was not picking up his phone wich made me kinda think. Me and a friend went back to the car and i started it right up. Loard knows its dark now and the only interier light that worked was the shift up light, my friend said sometimes when a turbo sits a long time it needs to be gassed to free up the turbo, so i got on it a little bit and everything seemed to be working alright, on the drive home i was driving blind but only hear the redline buzz one, my friend was in a wagon and couldnt catch up, when i got home he told me to get out of the car b/c it was on fire....i went to lookin the back but the fire was under the hood, i dumped a **** load of water on the flames and he said it was dripping fire for 2 miles or so, said it looked like neons only dripping. ever since then there has been no fire and no more sparks, i was told it was the cats, i guess they can clog up with gas and what have you and when it got really hot it caught fire.everything runs fine but still kinda curious about the sparks.starts up and runs great still

Haven’t heard of that problem before, was it electrical, or a fuel fire? sure it wasn't just something bottoming out/ dragging?
But I also wanted to mention that water is a poor extinguisher on either electrical or fuel fires.
You should invest in a decent A,B,C fire extinguisher for your home and now it sounds like a B,C one for your car.
