Just noticed something today that has really been annoying for some time. When I have everything cleaned up on s sunny day there is a very bad reflection of sunlight bouncing off the dash and reflecting off the inside of the windshield. You have to look thru the reflection to see outside the car.

I know the cause, a clean, shiny dash, the angle of the sun and the complimentary angles of the windshield and dash. Has anyone figured out any windshield treatment or any other way of reducing or eliminating the reflection? I know this may be a petty problem but everything else on my FC works and this is the only complaint I've got.

 

Don't know how to not make it reflect. But if you could keep it relective and inprove upon it, it would make for a nice custom HUD project.

 

Quit using Armorall (sp). Not trying to be a smart ***, but I am not a fan of the shiny finish it leaves, especially on the dash. There are some other vinyl dressings that won't leave as much of a gloss. Can't recommend any off the top of my head though.

Try some Simple Green and 0000 steel wool or a fine bristle scrub brush to dull down the finish.

 

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the product, but there is one vinyl cleaning/protecting product on the market that leaves a pretty dull, non-reflective finish. I think Acura dealers use it.

You can eliminate the reflection and look like a baller at the same time .

 

Get a dash cover...seriously.
To all those dash cover bashers who think it's cheesy, I run one just to kill the glare.
It works amazingly well for the price - about $30.

I know in the subaru's at the shop they use a black suede dash cover over the carbon fiber dash boards to stop the glare. You could do the same. Looks P.I.M.P to.

 

You could get some old carpet and make a dash cover. My car came with one, looks kinda stupid if you are looking right at it and know it is there otherwise it serves its job well of potecting the dash.

I tried both A and B car was in the shop getting body work/paint and windsheild replaced and the Dash was removed to take out some unwanted components. Lets just say that driving around the parking lot with no dash or windshield was somewhat odd.

In Hawaii, they are very popular - I'd say over half the cars run them over here.

if i was you, id tint the whole windshield, thats what i did in my fb, and no u cannot tell its tinted, but the temps are cooler, and at night, you can only see my nuckels and same thing for when its overcast, you cant see **** in there through the front, its 60% tint, look into it..

clean the inside of your window. Honestly probably 90% of reflection is caused by improperly cleaned or uncleaned glass. If there is even a tiny amount of oil/grease/dust/crud on the glass that makes a film it will create a reflection that is obnoxious. If you spend the time to windex and wipe dry the glass you should get 0 film. Remember though that you should use only clean rags or paper and you need one for wiping the excess off and one for finishing because if you rewipe a almost dry spot with a damp rag it will deposit what ever if on the rag and just refilm the glass. Trust me you will see a big difference with really clean glass. I deliver pizzas so I spend hours in my vehicles every day and am almost obsessive about having nice clean glass.
