Dante's Inferno

Went to a hill climb this weekend and it was effin hot out. Even hotter in the car with black on black. Anyhow, Ive got full interior and use the heat in the spring and fall. Wondering if anyone has rigged up some sort of shutoff for the heater core. Would like to hear if anyone has tried this and if it made a difference. Im thinking the valve thats there does not fully shut the flow off.

Should [near as makes no difference] block it off if you set it to cold and recirculate air?

Otherwise you *could* get some heater hose and bypass it.. but that'll be messy. Plus if you did that you wouldn't be able to turn it on incase you needed emergency engine cooling..
