Dangerous boost level??
Well recently i installed a aftermarket boost gauge since stock one is now useless( i have a fcd). So me and my friend were cruising to test it and @ 60 mph i dropped it into 3rd full throttle to see my max boost. So i hit redline and let off and ask my friend what was my psi. Turns out i peaked at 17 psi ( but dident go past) !! So i was wondering if im getting boost creep and maybe i dident port my wastegate enough.
Also if im i destined to blow my engine.
BTW i have a 89 t2 with turbo back and fuel upgrades

hahah ****! that's not goood bud. do you have any fuel mods? fuel pump, injectors, safc. . anything . .not that any of those will really help at 17psi . .if you don't have any fuel mods you should be at like 8-10psi max. . Plus the stock turbo after 13-14 or so psi just blows hott air. . not good. Be safe and keep it below 10psi to be safe. .you WILL blow your motor if you keep up those boost levels. Port the wastegate more ..

Your lucky you didn't destroy the turbo or motor.
On stock 550cc injectors you really don't want to travel past 10psi.
With my cleaned injectors and FPR w/ 1 to 1 boost reference and walbro I have hit 15psi and the motors still here.
I doubt the fuel system could hold it for long before leaning out though.
I've also hit 11-12psi with the cold weather lately but I still woudl leave a safetly zone just in case.
If you get 720 secondary injectors you shoudl be able to do 14psi easily. Anything over 14psi is useless because it will hurt the turbo and it starts to leave it's efficiency range.
