Damn Silicone Spray works wonders for Locks..

when i bought my rx7 i had a shotty door handle.. it was real loose.. so i got some new bolt and fixed that up last night.. i was talkin to my friend who works at a lock smith shop.. and i was really concerned about my locks because on the drivers side i would have to wiggle the key and turn to unlock it... but locking would be fine... i thought i was doomed and had to buy new locks which i really didnt want to.. my friend recommened using some silicone spray in the Locks... just spray it inside and stick the key in and unlock and lock a few dozen times... and holy crap did that work...

the key hole is like perfect now.. no jigglin or anything.. feels so much better to know it wasnt broken.. juse needed some lubrication...

you guys should try it..

Actually, use graphite powder - most auto parts stores have it in little tubes. That's the correct lubricant for locks. WD-40 can collect grit and crud, clogging up the lock.

Yeah, a good graphite treatment to a lock does miracles!

Graphite powder or silicon spray? Whats better I wonder. Last time I used graphite powder was on the little wooden race cars in boy scouts.

Graphite powder is still a lubricant, just a dry one, so it wont accumulate dirt, dust, and grime, and turn into a sludge.

Silicon lubricant is good for things like hinges tho, cuz it doesnt 'run' out of the hinge, and isnt exposed as much for dirt to get into it, or that being that much of a problem if it does.

Grapfite powder is the best stuff to use. Works great and won't have later conseqences like a wet lube will.

I have had good luck with Gunslick graphite lube, which is available at most gun shops.
