Man alot of people on here get rid of their cats. You should see if you can get like 4 of them and run them inline Then try it again

i believe that selling a car that wont pass emmissions is illegal in california.

as for cats...if you need new ones, check out the bonez high flow setup. its made to replace the stock ones.

seriously though, if you're just trying to pass smog, and you're thinking of going no-cats or anything like that in the future, see if you can borrow a cat from someone... there are people that keep theirs just to pass emissions every 2 years...

Yes it's true. In CA the seller is responsible for providing a smog cert to the new owner. It's illegal to sell a car that does not pass smog! Check it out on the DMV website

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm#BM2537

It says:

"The seller is required to provide the buyer with a valid smog inspection certification at the time of the sale or transfer. Smog certifications are good for 90 days from the date of inspection. The inspection is not required on a transfer if a biennial smog certification was submitted to DMV within 60 days prior to the vehicle transfer date. "
