All that you can get out. i used a 1.5 foot screwdriver and a hammer, and just beat it all out. It is a good mod until you can afford a header.

I used a broken broom handle and reemed the heck out of it. When you're done, it's an empty case.

I just wish somebody sold a pipe to replace them and still use the stock main-cat for a resonable price.

Depends on weather you need to pass emissions or not

There's supposed to be a ceramic honycomb-looking brick in there. You want to be rid of that brick and anything else that restricts the flow.
IMPORTANT!!! do NOT breath in the dust from that cat. Very bad juju in there.

ya they "can't" do that for you because if it comes back to them the'll get screwed. kemozabi just go down to the muffler shop and have them make you a pipe for the pre-cats, then have them reinstall your pre-cats and tell them you just want the pipe for when you go to the track. they shouldn't have a problem with it then. just make sure they flange it so you can switch them. as for punching the pre-cats it's fine don't worry about it yes it's better to go with a sraight pipe from a muffler shop but, if you are poor like me or cheap like me also:bggrin: then just take a bar or something to the pre-cats and punch out everyting until you see daylight on the otherside of them. prob why you don't see the honeycomb is they are so freakin cloged that you can't see anything.

I dont kno whats goin on. I can see daylight through the precats, the only noticable thing is the little ring on the inside. i tried to stab it out and its not going anywhere. but il go somewhere else and see what they can do. i told him i would come in to the shop acting like the pipe just fell off but he still wanted no part, and i told him id change it myself, no again, but he did tell me i can go beat it out myself.

keep the cats...you'll wish you had them when you need to pass smog, esp here in ca (unless this is your race car...then ignore the rest of this message).

you're best bet would be to buy the bonez race pipe or the power pulse thingy from racing beat and keep your cats for smog.
