I've been there before, don't have much reason to return anytime soon though. I stayed in High River for a while and went to calgary a couple of times while I stayed there

You know sonic, the only thing I like about the drive to high river from calgary is the fact you can set cruise control to like 180 and just sit there chattin/listening to music and ****.

ok guys I just pulled this pig all after noon and it smoked like hell at first then no smoke but she just wont start !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has new plugs in it fresh gas all new upper and lower intake gaskets fresh oil water pump housing gasket and water pump gasket no leaks anywhere. I changed the cas just incase it was bad with my old one nothing will not fire. It does get warm to the touch so it is tryin to run . But hell I had it up to 5500 rpm and it wont start !!!!!!!! plugs are dry when I stopped pulling it so it aint flooded but I tried to do a comp test and I get nothing on the reading on either rotors !!!!!!!! still !!!!!!!!!!! Im gonna see if I can find another comp tester just to make sure. HELP HELP It shouldnt be this hard to get it running

Okay, calm down there slugger... Take 5 and have a break..

Now think...Did you forget ANYTHING? Reconnect the fuel pump? All of the intake hooked up? All the fuses in? If the plugs are dry, there is no fuel getting to the engine..

Remember, if you take that LONG tube from the air filter to the Throttle body off of the car, your car WILL NOT RUN..

PM me with your phone number (I get free long distance) and I will talk you through this.

Rat

*edit* And please dont spray half a can of starting fluid down the intake before you try to push start. a LITTLE fluid is fine..

Oh, here's a hint, try to push the AFM flapper open a little while you crank and see if you can get it to start then, if you can then there must be one big-*** vacuum leak somewhere! (worked for me when I had a massive leak)

I just went and got a 150.00 MAC compression tester from my roomates sonlinlaw who is a nissan mechanic . We did a comp test on this motor and I still get nothin on both rotors .
Its getting gas and I have the kill switch to stop it if I need to . But all it does is goes bump bump when you turn it over with the starter . When we pulled it for a mile or more it would do the same. If I floored it you could just hear the air flowing but if you gave it just a little gas it would pop kinda .
I just am worried about the no comp at all ? Im gonna pull the intake off tomorrow as long as weather lets me and check it all again just to make sure.

Hmm...May need to actally put some ATF into that one.

This is EXACTLY what the indications were on my 10th AE. When you pull the plugs and turn the motor, can you feel 3 light puffs from the plugholes?

Take the plugs out and turn it over and listen for loud whooshes, if you only hear small little whooshes(hardly noticable) there is a problem, if you hear loud even bursts of air all should be well
