The contact points for the handbrake can sometimes be prone to connection problems I've found. If you're getting beeps and it's not moving you might want to check it.

We've all done that at least once.

So i just tried it with the ebrake handel up and down, and still nothing. Not even the sound it makes when the top goes up. Which points on the ebrake are you referring too? Thanks Matt

If you're not getting any beeps you may have another problem. Mine would beep but the contact points at the bottom of the ebrake handle weren't making a good connection. You can see it pretty easy. You could use a screwdriver to push down on it.

Mine got stuck down once. The problem was the convertible top switch. Take it apart and sand the contacts and maybe add some dielectric grease. When you take it apart do it inside of a plastic bag because the little springs will come shooting out. While you have it apart notice how Mazda used a dual circuit switch but simply looped one of the circuits. This does nothing but fail to take advantage of a second set of contacts that would have made it so I would not have had to take the switch apart in the first place. I got to do all this on my luch break because that is when the switch decided to break in the first place.

If it is the switch, you can use the diagnostic plug on the passengers underhood shock tower and jumper the connections.

In fact that is probably what I would try next.
