Damn.. can't get flywheel off...

Wow, it's on there, only rebuilt a year ago too!
SO I'm rebuilding my engine because I popped a front apex seal.
I'm going to find a bigger puller, I was using a dinky steering wheel one..
I searched, but all the basic tips came up.. heating, and pounding.. guess Ill just have to keep working on it!
Any other suggestions?

I just got a large flywheel puller and tightened it up as tight as i possibly could. It still didnt budge. The only way I got it off was to wack it extremely hard w/ a sludge hammer. I couldnt believe the force it took to take that bastard off.

Hit the front (the part the clutch attaches to) twards the outter edge with a large heavy mallet, sledge, or other heavy implement. The thing will pop right off.

Stupid idea. Its a good way to bend a e-shaft or warp a fly wheel. Do as all the others suggested.

Back off the flywheel nut and use a hammer on the flywheel *NOT* the gear.

This always works for me: use a prybar to try to pry the flywheel off of the engine, while you hit the outer circumfrence with a hammer. Use a block of wood to protect the flywheel, and have the flywheel nut on a few threads just in case. This has never failed to work, even on seriously overtorqued flywheel nuts. May take two people, and a big hammer.
