damage TPS??

first mistake was that i connect a jumper wire to the terminals of checker connector(green)and second mistake i make thiw when the engine was in operation..Now i connect the right checker lamp(led) to the check connector and both of the leds no illuminates.I turn the adjusting screw counter -clokwise but nothing.Throttle sensor shows 1k-5k i think is o.k.WHAT I MAKE?? Affect the ECU ?

Most likely you have blown the transistors that control the Relief and Switching solenoids. The Relief solenoid is the one with a BLUE plug and the Switching has the Grey plug.

Not to worry though. If your car is a series four, its really easy to set your tps. Just get a digital volt meter. Put the negative lead on a good ground. Then put the positive lead in the backside of the TPS connector where the Green wire with a Red stripe is.

With the engine FULLY WARMED UP, the reading of the meter should be ONE volt. If it reads higher or lower....adjust the TPS adjust screw til you get ONE volt. Being off one volt just a little bit on either side of one volt won't matter.

Remember this though. You don't disconnect any plugs to do this procedure. You DO NOT use the green check connector to do this. You use the connector that connects to the TPS harness.

And last but not least.......when you failed to get the two lights to light on your original test rig......did you make sure the car was fully warmed up????? If it was not fully warmed up......try that method once more but with the engine fully warmed up.

Frankly speaking....no. If one looks carefully at his fsm, in the Control Unit section, he will find the voltage readings for each pin on the ECU. And what does it say for pin 2G on a series four???? Approx ONE volt at idle. I prefer the car to be idling. That's real life conditions. I KNOW that the thermowax hasn't started to *shrink* since I shut the engine off, therefore moving the throttle linkage and the tps.

Series five are a touch different...not much, but some.

Okay, i just tried to adjust my TPS. I'm going to go get a different ohmmeter, btu the one I have just wasnt working right. I'd turn the screw left to much, the engine seemed like it went into drag mode, and I turned it to the rigth and it would come back but Idle high. I could not get it to 1k ohms. I'm going to try to buy just an ohmm meter where 1k ohms = 1 volt tomorrow. What do you suggest?

What you think must change the solenoid valve and the switch solenoid valve or only the transistors.WHERE IS THIS?Inside the Blue and grey plug?
