Damage report *NO 56K...*

Well after the accident last night, i washed and waxed my car to see all the damage

There is one cip in the paint. But I am worried about the wheel alignment like I was saying.
Here is the passanger side front wheel, which seems normal:

Notice how the wheels is centered.

now here is the drivers side:

Three things to mention here:
1. The wheel is pushed back towards the fender (it is not bent)
2. The car is sitting lower on this side. (im thinking blown shock?)
3.The grass in between the rim and tire. Is this bad? (well i know its not good ) But how bad is it?

In this pic, you can see how the drivers side is sitting lower than the passanger side.

Again, i think that is the shock.

I want to stress that the car drives fine. I did notice today that it pulls left very slightly. But that is the only thing I notice while driving it.

Im bringing in my car to my mechanic (mike lowe) on monday. BUt I want to know what I should be expecting.

get rid of the stupid LED ****. And then look under the car probably the A arm or the steering linkages.

I'm not sure if I'd consider this "Normal"!

Seriously though - you probably have damaged more than just the shock. Even if you remove the shock, the wheel wont be pushed back at all. The ride height could be shock related, but the wheel position is something more serious.

You'll have to get the car up on jackstands and take the wheel off to see what's going on.

I've busted up an alloy rim way worse than that (not proud of it) it turn out I hit the curb so hard that it bent the spindle of the wheel, as well as the frame of the car....it drove fine after it was all fixed and frame straightened but it still , pulled very slighty

I'd guess it's a bent A-arm.
Like they said though, just jack it up and take off both front wheels. Compare them and look for damaged/bent parts.

I had the exact same problem on my Honda Prelude - it turned out to be a bent lower control arm and a bent subframe. The lower control arm was easy to fix - and for the longest time, I thought the actual frame was bent. Finally went to a REALLY good shop (3rd shop I visited) and they noticed a VERY slight bend in the subframe. I went to the junkyard, replaced the subframe and voila! Fixed.

Even though it drove straight before the fix, it would understeer HORRIBLY at low-speeds (the car would shake at say 25mph right hand turns) but it would turn on the left hand side just fine...I autox'ed like this too, it sucked royal ***.

****UPDATED****

Took it in to the shop this morning and just got a call back.
It looks like the ball joint is dead, and the strut. Total in parts is $162.56.
Im not sure on the cost of labor yet.

But I am so relieved that is is such a cheap fix. In one of my older cars (02' SpecV) I got in the same type of accident, at the same speed. But the car broke both axles and cost over 3500 to repair.
Thank goodness the RX7 is stronger. I think my love for this car just multiplied by 10x.
