Cylinder under airbox

What is the cylinder under the area where the stock airbox is? Large and black, it sits right above the stock brake duct, seems to have a large water hose sized pipe coming in and out of it.

reason I ask Is I would like to remove this cylinder and the washer bottle to get a 3" feed into my cold air box.

Cheers,

silencer. You have a turbo? I removed it from my TII but it makes a weird SUCKING sound when you're accelerate (hence the need for the hose and cylinder). I haven't taken the NA apart like my TII so I don't know if the NA has it.

Yeh, its turbo, is it for the air pump, or the intake?

So there are no issues with removing it?

Thanks for the reply.
