Cut out after new alt install

Ok i threw in a new Alternator from Silverrotor and things went ok, still have some TMIC clearance issues due to the larger ALT but thats no big deal. I was driving around town tryin to recharge the battary thats been sitting awhile and i jump on the freeway to gun it and BAM my car cuts out, its like the gas pump stoped working or something because i can try to turn it over its getting power from the battery but it wont start up again. While i was rolling from the cut out i figured i could just throw it in a lower gear and roll start it but that didnt work either.

Any ideas?

edit: i forgot to mention i had just premixed with 2 stroke oil, but i've done that before and i had no problems so im guessing its not to do with that.

Its cranking over at normal speed or not???

If not and its slow, I'd say you hooked up the alt wrong and were running on battery voltage

my mother had that problem with her mercury somethingorother, turned out to be a fuse hidden somewhere. we only discovered that after $200 for a new distributor and fuel pump

edit: forgot to menton this was also after an alt swap, but stock for stock

This is ))#&()@$# no excuse.
Use your original alternator -> battery post / arm off your original alternator and grind down the position divot.
REMOVE THE FD ALTERNATOR EQUIVALENT - you can't use it cause it's going to SHORT against the IC!
I bet you blew the main fuse cause the post shorted through the IC!
This is NOT "no big deal"; this is downright dangerous.

Icemark, it cranked normal speed i think its connected right, the bat was at 0 before we jumped it from sitting around a month or two but now the alt is charging it fine.

RETed, Thanks i didnt know you could use the original im going to do that but i put a piece of cardboard (getto temp fix) over the post divot thing so it wouldnt touch the IC and short.

UPDATE: I tried to crank the car over today for ***** and giggles and it almost started so i jumped it and BAM its up and running fine today so i dont understand what the problem was last night. I checked the fuses and they were fine, im stumped.

The only thing that isnt plugged in that i noticed was this, i coudlnt find it in the book, im not sure what it does but if i took a guess it would be the boost guage connection?

I cant plug it in because the plastic snap is broken, i could tape it in but i would like to get another snapin if i could, dealer carry that sorta thing?

Listen to RETed, you probably blew a fuse over on the driver side strut tower. Check that and get back to us.
