IN custom parts: idiot surround plastic, cup holders, radio surround plastic?

i was just thinking:

wouldn't it be nice if we never had to worry about breaking or having to find the idiot cluster plastic surround, radio surround, or cup holders?

i think somebody should mold these pieces out of fiberglass to fit the fc's so we dont have to worry about them breaking.

the cup holder would have to accompany 2 cups since there are 2 seats, maybe molded into each door somehow or molded into the armrest?

just throwing some ideas out there for those of you who are fiberglass oriented and want to make some extra money.

i think these would sell outrageously on ebay or through rx7club

let me know what you think.

I like the idea
Idiot surround you can do pretty easy no exp realty needed to do that 1 just research how to fiberglass
As for the fc back speaker surround and door pannels that would b bad *** to see made

For the door just make it general we can cut the holes for the window switches or window handle

I've thought of this a lot I've done research and I concluded I cant do it with out privious exp

But defidently a good idea

Please fab goros help us out

i really think that the idiot cluster is the main part people will be interested seeing how alot of people dont know how to take the damn things out without breaking them. i would pay someone $40 or $50 for one that looks and fits good.

S5 idiot clusters/shift consoles don't break. problem solved.

i laughed when i saw the prices of the simple cut pre-fab CF sheet that you have to double sided tape to the inside of your car... i guess not everyone is a DIYer though, but materials for those parts cost about 1/10th what they charge and only take about 5 minutes to cut out with a dremel/bandsaw.

Some people would possibly want to keep it S4. And not have to spend $200 for a new one, or risk getting an old, brittle piece that can break easily.

Cheaper would be nice, but the reason I say is because I don't want to do the whole carbon fiber thing.

I was one of the guys who wanted to keep my radio/vent surround S4. I ordered a brand new one from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda in 2009 and it was $99. Not dirt cheap, but not $200 either. It was the only broken plastic in my otherwise mint interior, so it was worth it to me. Of course, this was the price for the surround only, no vents. Maybe you're talking about everything.

i just want the idiot surround. this is the only piece that is missing in mine. not looking to spend over $30 though. i want it made out of "fiberglass" so it cant break. carbon fiber is too pricey for a piece that just covers up unsightly parts.

Yeah. With vents and surround because it's pretty rare to have a broken surround and not a vent.

The S4 surround is $115 I think at Mazdatrix, then I can't remember the price of the vents.

I should have broken down my answer a bit more- I bet you can request glass and even save yourself a few bucks as well

I owned 3 S4s with broken surrounds, none of the vents were broken, thats the crappy thing about putting the s5 in the car- you need the vents too

Every S4 I've had had busted vents and surround. Both my S5's had good surrounds and iffy vents.

im still on my original vents ( obviously )

the triangle vents I smashed one taking the seat out of the car- note to vert owners the headrest speakers will smash them if you have the seatback all the way forward and tilt the seat in the car to remove it
