Custom made exhaust systems
Hi All,
First of all i have to say that i have bought an RX-7 TII '91 at february.
After 2000 kilometres while i was driving my RX started to smoke seriously and so i had to stop it in order to prevent further damage. I went to MAZDA GREECE and they told me that my Turbo charger was completely damaged. Anyway i replaced it with a new one and my Mazda now works perfect. Is it possible that my custom made exhaust system have damaged it??
I don't have a monolithic converter and main catalytic converter installed and i also do not have a presilencer.
Thanks for your replies

Welcome to the Forum... They have Left hand drive cars in Greece?
As far as the turbo Goes, I doubt the Exhaust had anything bad to do with it, actually it helps keep the turbo cool, now that you dont have those BRICKS in the exhaust system
More than likely the cause of the turbo blowing up was due to Oil cooking itself because of improper cool down periods.
You want to let the car idle anywhere from 1 minute + and a turbo Timer ( www.rx7store.net ) is an invaluable investment.

Yes we do have left hand drive cars in Greece.
About the turbo i always let the engine idle for 5min+ , could it be affected by the previous owner use ( i don't know if my question is stupid).
I have purchased a Greddy turbo timer last week and know i am waiting fo the holidays here in greece to end in order to install it.
Thanks again,
Nick
