Custom Fab

I do not know if this has been done yet or not, And if so please point me to some links. So anyway I want to make molds of the various interior peices on my 87 RX.
Basicly from these make injection molds and do custom color dash peices. Also looking for 87 RX7 cad drawings and those pics you can get on those cd's for doing car grafix. I want the cad drawings for making some custom hoods. I have a friend with a sheet metal shop and he said with the cad drawings we could produce the hoods.

I could make these on a per order basis and sellem fairly cheap.

Can you beat 550 for a Exact replica of a TII hood in Carbon Fiber? How many pieces have you actually made?

that "Exact replica of a TII hood in Carbon Fiber" is not 100% carbon fiber. its fiberglass with a few layers of CF just for the look.

I think making a new hood out of sheet metal is not a good idea. It takes a lot of skill and time to form the metal by hand, and i think it would cost to much to for even setting up the equipment to make dyes and use a press to make them. It would have to be at least made of aluminum too for me to get it. CF is so in too...

The hoods were just an idea... But the dash and trim can be easily duplicated. I make Latex monster mask as a hobby, so making molds of the trim will be rather easy.

I am gonna cast a peice or two in SULPHO-PLASTICS . Its a mixture that has metal qualities such as being able to conduct heat, electricity, and also can be electroplated. But I will most likely use a resin base as it is rather durable. I just think the current prices for these parts is a little steep. 91 bux for a Radio surround is a bit much. Plus I can mold these in whatever color I choose.
