WE are about to find out.
I am prolly gonna strip mine. I am thinking of the exact same headlight conversion. I am planning on removing the sunroof assly and putting in a removable plate (maybe plexiglass) and also *might* remove the windows and motors and do lexan. I'll tell you guys how much I shave by measuring it all.

What type of car, TII, na, 87, 89+???
Anyway we have our 87 TII weighing in around 2500lbs. Still is legal to drive on the street, carpet and seats are in it, power windows, mirrors and sunroof all work.
For our TII this is what we did...
51R sized battery, ~10lbs lighter
3" straight pipe "cat-back", probably 30lb savings
300ZX na wheels, .250" spacer required for front, stock lug studs. 20lb savings.
Removed spare, jack, etc. 20-25lbs lighter.
Ditched rear wiper, washer, power antenna and mat under rear carpet. Rear carpet left in place, it is light and looks much better. Another 10-15lbs.
Remove airpump, cruise, all emissions, a/c, front washer tank, cats, 90-100lbs savings.
Ditched front bumper reinforcement, not recommended AT ALL for street use. 15-20lbs lighter
Removed heater, blower motor, stereo, speakers and all under dash ducts and vents, not recommended for street either. 43lbs lighter
We left all the interior carpet, door panels, etc in place. Carpet is sorta heavy everything else really isn't that heavy. The benefit is the car appears to be pretty stock and we fool a lot of people thinking it is a pretty stock TII while it really is pretty light. Sorta like a sleeper, but slightly loud.
best 1/4 is 13.4's 104-105.5 with exhaust and a cone filter.

Drag racing
It is a 86 rx. I am going to backhalve it. I have a jig setup, to make tube chassis from the firewall back. But it still will have a full interior and I will still drive it on the street. When I get done it will look something like my friends car.
