Cruise control cable removal

Will it screw anything up? The switch inside the car is all jacked up and I don't use it so I won't miss it, but will it mess with my idle, etc. I assume not just want to check before I get rid of it.

BTW, i'm talking about the cable only...it's one less thing i have to put back when i'm finished with these injectors. I'll get rid of it all eventually, just wanted to know if i could remove only the cable.
