Cruise control after auto to manual swap
Proud of myself !
On my S5 NA, 8 of years ago, I've done the manual conversion following :Rotary Resurrection home of the budget rebuild..
Two things went "wrong" : I couldn't unplug the auto trans ecu because it made my car run like crap ! Otherwise, it run really well ! The other thing was that the cruise control was not working...
Sold my "top-less" to my mother couple of years ago (not a good car for a new dad...) and her new boyfriend asked me last week if I could fix the CC... challenged accepted !
It was really hard to find the information for a non-mecanic dude like me !
Spotted the cruise control unit and unplugged the wires related to the auto-trans : the "g" and "j" wire ! Just that simple ! Well, had to find out how to take out the wire from the connector without cuting it. For newbs like me : theres is a plastic cover to unclip where the wire enters the connector and then you have to lift a plastic pin in the other side of the connector...
Took 8 years !!!
Next challenge : install a clutch switch to stop the CC when clutch is press done... for my mother's safety !
Breaks my heart to give it back to her, looks so fine in my garage !!!
Cheers !
