Crossmember Bolts

Ok Recently was finishing my clutch install. I went to put the four bolts into the crossmember and none of them fit past the very edge and they go in kind of crooked. I am first going to assume it is the bolts that are bad. Can anyone tell me the size of them or what tap i should boy in order to retap the hole if needed . I did search and there are tons of threads about this but none of them had answers. I just want my car to be done because i want to drive it before it gets to be terrible weather.

you sure you didn't mount the cross member backwards? if you removed the cross member from the transmission then you may need to spin it around to get it to mount correctly.

Where the heck have you been? The terrible weather is already here.

Did you put in solid mounts? Because when you do that it takes a bit of playing around to put the bolts back in.

I remember having a heck of a time putting the Cross member back in when I put Solid mounts on.
What I did was loosen the mounts Alot, from the Trans, and jack it up in place.then shuffle with the Mount Putting a bolt on each side.,and then repeat.
Then tighten up the mounts(wrench).
You can also Loosen the engine mounts a bit.
If they are all solid,it goes in Really Really Tight.

weather here has been occasionally bad but not terrible. In the next week we are supposed to have some highs in the 50s.

I attached a pic of the the crossmember i need the bolts for and were they go.

Japan2LA you have a PM.

As far as mounts all were left alone for now until i get my big check in january and change my drive shaft and all the mounts over to solid.

i will attach the pic at work.

if i remember correctly those bolts have a beveled head to allow you to start threading them in easier. I think you'd have to order them from mazda

just looked in the holes and turns out my threads are F*cked. Ihave no idea why either. I took them out with a regular ratchet and they came out fine then I put them back where they came from just like all other bolts i removed(never doing this again though. Busted my head open and bled all over myself and my car). Im just going to pick up a tap and die set. Im sure i will use it again sometime and it cant hurt to have it.
