"Creeking" noise from rear! Help!

"Creek" sounds come from the rear when the car is in motion....seems to be especially worse when I turn! What could be the cause?

Most likely the hatch rubber stoppers...
You can try and realign the latches, which is a royal pain in the ***.&nbsp Or slap some silicon spray on those rubber stoppers to quiet them down temporarily.

Oops!&nbsp Try the trunk rubber stoppers?&nbsp Open the trunk up and look at the outside edges - you'll see the black rubber "cones".

Else, its you're convertible top frame creaking?

I asked this question a long time ago, and all Igot was:It is rear mount bushings. I have no clue what this means. One day, mine just stopped when I put new exhaust hanger "donuts" on my mufflers. They are like $1 a peice at www.mazdatrix.com It might be worth your time to check this out!

Good luck. I have never got an answer. Dave at www.fc3s.org told me that like 8 months ago.

I have a convertible also. I finally cured the creaks in mine by replacing the exhaust hangers near the inside lower rear control arm mount (under the center of the car just to the rear of the seats). This was not the hangers at the mufflers. I know it sounds like a suspension problem. Mine did too. But try the hangers.

I could possibly have the same noise prob on my 86 N/A. Where do these 'donut' hangers go? I will inspect the underside area tomorrow. Putting new springs along with shocks and struts on Tuesday, I thought this was the cause. I will know for sure if that cures it after Tuesday. If not, I will be back to trying to locate the sound problem.
