Creaking noise when braking

Just recently I've been getting a creaking noise that sounds like it's coming from the front left strut area when breaking or when hitting bumps. I don't have to be going fast to get it.

I've jacked it up taken the wheel off and inspected everything on the front and rear and could find no explanation for it, it seems like it has gotten louder in the last couple of days.

I need to drive up to Seattle on Wednesday morning so I'm hoping to get it solved or to find that it wont be an issue for the drive. Drive is about 150 miles one way.

I recently replaced the springs and got new tires, have not gotten an alignment done if that could have anything to do with it I don't know. I've not hit anything or driven really hard. It started after driving up I-5 from Eugene last week(110 miles).

Forgot to mention this is an S4 na, I did the five lug swap with brakes about 9 months ago.

Any ideas, is it likely bushings since nothing appeared to be loose? I could not replicated the sound with it jacked up, so I really don't know.

Check your swaybar's endlinks and bushings if you haven't already.

I did a visual check and pushed on it a bit and didn't really notice anything, but it is one of the I suspect. Is there a good way to check them and how critical is it to get them replaced if that's the problem?

I have a similar problem with mine. Mine makes a "clicking" sound when I push the brakes, even slightly, and it sounds like it's coming from the drivers side front wheel. I can mostly hear it echoing off of objects beside me (cars, bridges, walls, etc.)

I have new struts, springs, rotors, calipers, steel braided lines, and have had an alignment. I suspect it's the bushings, or wheel bearings, as they are about the only things I have yet to replace down there.

If you figure yours out let us know what fixed it. Please
