Crappy Idle
Background Information:
A couple years ago, I was driving my car back from a 4th of July visit to my hometown. It was a very hot, humid Nebraska day with about 4.5 hours of driving to do. When I got to Omaha, I went to a close by Sonic to grab something to drink. I shut the car off, only to hear an annoying hissing sound coming from my engine bay. I took a quick look at the outside of the car and could see steam and a green puddle forming under neath my car. The fuse that ran my electric fan died somewhere on the trip (Best reason I can think of NOT to get an electric fan) I let the car cool off for a little while before driving it home the last few blocks. I tried to take the car work the next day, but only got about a mile away before my car was bucking and stalling horribly. Ive spent many hours trying to find the problem, and being stupid. Ive narrowed it down to a couple problems.
- Air Intake Leak
- Low Compression
- Disconnected hose that should be connected
- Dying Fuel Pump (Didn't have the exact tools to check pressure, but holding pressure is NIL when the car is off.
- Clog somewhere in the fuel system (New filter and fresh gas used)
- I'm retarded and shouldn't be fixing this car alone.
I'm not limiting this to ONE problem, but possibly all of them.
When I bought the car, it had already been highly modified. i.e. Removal of several systems including AC and PS. I had hoses and wires all over the place that I don't know the function of. I have a Haynes manual, but that has only gotten me so far.
Somewhere in between the last time I drove the car, and today, a whole mess of hoses got disconnected from the engine. I was able to identify and replace some of the hoses. I have two hoses now that I am currently suspicious of being one of my problems. Unfortunately, I only have 1 place to put a hose, and I don't even know that a hose goes there. I have checked the manual and I couldn't find an image that helped me out.
Current Symptoms:
- Rough and Erratic Idle
- Afterburn, especially in higher RPMs
- Occasionally has rough neutral engine acceleration
- Stalls Easily
- If the car is warm, the problem is not as bad. I was able to drive the car for about a block before anything bad starts happening.
- While driving and accelerating, the car will sometimes sputter out and return to idle, even when the pedal is down.
I will answer any questions that may get this car back on the road before summer. I have alot to work on to make this car it's former self, and I would like to have it running before working on the looks. Paint and new popper kit for my doors are a must. Some bondo work is also required for the doors.

Hose 1 and 2 are pictures of the hoses that are currently disconnected.
Leak is a picture of my Thermostat Housing Cover (Which I will be in the market to buy after the engine problem is fixed - Anyone have one of these for cheap?)
RX7 - Startup and rev
RX7 2 - Startup and Rev (Cold start activated) Some Afterburn toward the end
RX7 3 - Startup and Rev heard from engine bay
I took the sound files with my phone, so quality is bad. I can pretty much describe exactly what you hear if you notice a weird sound.
Thanks for any help! Pictures will be taken upon request. If you would like to hear anything more closely, I can be reached via phone. PM for number.

On another note, I did a compression test by listening with a spark plug out. (Thanks aaroncake for the amazing website which also helped me decide to buy my first rotary) It seemed just fine to me. I had quick even pops on both rotors.
Has anyone had any luck or thoughts to identifying the hoses?
