You didn't crack a rotor. It's pretty much impossible.

However, you may have blown an apex seal or 3.

Best thing to do right now would be a compression test.

Just run a compression test. It will reveal all.

can anybody tell me what the compression is supposed to be on my car.

1987 RX7 non-turbo

also would the compression have anything to do with why it idles at 4000rpms

Just run the poor mans compression test for a quick check. Pull the EGI Ing and EGI Comp fuses from under the hood (located on the drivers side near the battery) then pull out one of your spark plugs. Have someone crank the car, you should hear three even 'wooshes'. Once this is done put your plug back in and take a plug out of the other rotor and crank the car again. If you hear one woosh, you have lost an apex seal, if you hear no wooshes you have lost two or more apex seals.

I dont think seals will break right after engine startup. Did you build this motor yourself?

edit: compression will not have anything to do with why it idles at 4k rpms. I dont recall off the top of my head why this would happen, just do a search in the 2nd gen forum on 'high idle'. Do a compression check first to make sure your motor isnt blown.
