CP Headlight Kit - anyone got one?

I was wondering if anyone else (besides Dave's SEMA FC) has the CP light kit?
If you do, can you comment on it, and can we see some close up pix?
Thanks,
-a

I dont think so. Honestly the pix provided by CP racing made it look butt ugly. And they said it didnt require modifications but it clearly required cutting of the stock bumper. speedmachine made it look very very clean though.

Didn't Dave say the light kit was from SP engineering?

Oh alright. That kit seems like it might look good as long as it wasn't on a bone-stock bodied car.

Hey Thanks for posting those up.

Its really strange...but I'm examining the lights in the above pix and comparing them to SEMA car. It looks like the SEMA car's light don't have the rivets?
Thats really strange...but it looks much better wthout the rivets.

the sema car was cleaned up, being a sema car and all

Also, those look butt ugly. I prefer the pop-ups anyway. The only time you have to worry about aerodynamics is at night at speeds at or above 140mph, where our cars stop accelerating (roughly, different car to car). Besides, the pop-ups add character and are an RX-7 trademark, as is the lack of cup holders

Yeah when I was writing at dark thirty in the morning, my typing isn't the best They are infact the CP lights on our SEMA car. Ours didn't have the rivets like the ones pictured. Not sure why or if they were supposed to or have changed. The best bet for accurate info would be to give them a ring to see.

They look better on the S5 IMO... the 89+ FC just looks cleaners w/ the newer bumper and painted side moldings

The RE kit only works with their bumper. The CP kit works using the stock bumper but requires cutting and ditching the FTPs.

Dave

How's the lighting with the CP headlight?

I've seen these in person and they really do look nice. The pictures are admittedly kind of shitty, I agree, and they don't do these lights justice at all. The larger of the two lights btw, is a halo light that you can either wire into your headlights or put on a separate switch I believe. Pretty nice.

I know that they were working on a better way to fasten the lenses than with rivets. It appears as though they're using urethane or some adhesive now instead. Looks a lot cleaner imo.

Personally, I think I might order a set of these soon, but without the plexiglass lenses. I'm sure they won't have any problems with not putting them on for me, and they look so HOT without them!

You might think they look good without them but just wait until they crack because a rock hits them or water leaks in and shorts them out.

You let me know the next time that happens to one of your pop-up headlights when they're up... then I'll be concerned; but until then I really don't think it's an issue with a sealed beam driving light like that.
