Couple of questions before tearup apart motor

I bought new oem apex seals (for 200, I had to) for a 93 rx7 from someone who told me it works on 86+ motors (I have a 88 base model), I'd like to verify that with you guys.

If so, do I need the 93 year springs and corner seals?

And do I need to get that huge socket for the other end of the e-shaft or can I just open the other end and unstack everything? That part isn't clear in my haynes manual

While I'm at it, what is a vert model?

(sorry bad title grammar)

That huge nut holds the flywheel on, you won't be able to undo any of the tension bolts without the flywheel removed. Vert=convertible.

Same seals.

No, but you might as well buy them. They are improved parts and no more expensive then the 2nd gen part numbers.

See flywheel removal in the FAQ. You need to remove the flywheel to access the tension bolts. If this is unclear, I suggest you purchase one of the rebuild videos available from most of the vendors.

Convertible. See the FAQ for acronyms and definitions.
