Couple of questions.....

I own a 1987 GXL

1.) Is it honestly necessary to keep putting top grade fuel in my car? I was advised to do this by my uncle, who sold the car to me.

2.) My owners manual says not to use synthetic oil. Does anyone know the exact reason why?

3.)I just replaced my clutch, and my clutch pedal seems to release awfully high. Is there any way to adjust this, or should I just relax, and go with the whole "every clutch is different" thing?

I figured I'd keep my post short and simple.

Thanks!

Ignore your uncle and put in 87.

Synthetic oils are alright, as long as they are clean burning (high quality/expensive). Cheap synthetics aren't good for the engine. Mazda was just covering their asses from people putting in cheap *** oil and then blaming then when their engines started sucking.

1. The 7 is probably the only sports car where the owner's manual suggests using 87. I use 89 out of habit.

2. High quality synthetics are fine. This is discussed in the FAQ.

3. I believe clutches can be adjusted. I'm stuck with an automatic, so I don't know how, but I'm sure a factory service manual has the info you need. Also found in the FAQ.
